Mathew

Matthew Gonzalez,

Executive Director

Matt Gonzalez is the executive director here at Travanse Living at Wheaton. His duties as executive director include overseeing the community’s day-to-day operations and team management, hiring all department heads and care staff, and coordinating with the management company, Integral Senior Living.

A Mokena native, Matt has spent much of his career working in both senior care and health care. Prior to his position at Travanse Living at Wheaton, he served as the executive director at Autumn Leaves of Orland Park Assisted Living. Matt graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work and also obtained a master’s degree in social work from Governors State University.

Matt is passionate about working in health care. As executive director at Travanse Living at Wheaton, he encourages his staff and the community’s residents to laugh, have fun, learn something new, and positively impact someone’s life each and every day.

Matt is engaged to Ivette and will be the stepfather of her son, Leo. During his free time, Matt enjoys watching sports, working out, and socializing with friends and family.

Kathy Fezzuoglio,

Director of Sales and Marketing

Kathy Fezzuoglio is the director of Sales and Marketing of Travanse Living™ at Wheaton. As one of the first people you will meet, she will quickly become your go-to for all your senior living questions, what lifestyle you or a loved one may need, and the multitude of activities offered at Travanse Living. No matter your needs, she can point you in the right direction.

Kathy previously studied accounting, economics and education at Northern Illinois University and Business, Sales and Marketing Management at the College of DuPage.

When Kathy is not at work, she enjoys playing tennis and is very involved in local clubs. She is currently an active member of the Chamber of Commerce Women in Business group as well as their Celebrating Seniors Coalition. She is also involved in the Senior Citizens Services Coordinating Council and participates in the Engaging with Aging Panel to help seniors and their loved ones learn about senior living options.

Charlie Lehman,

Director of Sales and Marketing

Charlie Lehman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Wheaton, is eager to meet and help find the best community for you or a loved one. Charlie’s role is to get to know prospective residents and their families well, discern what makes life important and enjoyable for every resident, and explain what distinguishes Travanse Living among senior living communities. Charlie is passionate about the way we promote active, healthy lifestyles; the way we focus on abilities, not disabilities; and the way we celebrate life with every resident every day.

Charlie attended Columbia University and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He has also been deeply involved in his church and community, serving as Rotary Club president, PTA president and as a hands-on volunteer for many worthy organizations. His favorite roles, though, have been as father and, recently, as grandfather. Charlie is an avid reader, movie-goer, walker, bike-rider, explorer, traveler, eater, volunteer, seeker, storyteller and friend.

Betsy Charney,

Director of Sales and Marketing

Director of Sales and Marketing Betsy Charney is anxious to meet and  assist you or your loved one in finding your new home. She is responsible for helping seniors make the most informed decisions about assisted living and memory care and can help lead seniors and their families in the right direction through compassionate conversation and knowledge. Betsy builds relationships with not only residents and families but also other outside referral sources in order to help seniors live an uplifting life.

Betsy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in interior design from the University of Nebraska.

When she is not at work, Betsy enjoys gardening, DIY home projects, reading, traveling, sewing, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends. She has two children who live in the area, both are married, and she loves being a grandmother!

Karin Klockars,

Vibrant Life Director

Karin Klockars is Travanse Living™ at Wheaton’s Community Vibrant Life director. In this role, Karin is responsible for planning and organizing programming to help residents live engaging and fulfilling lives. She believes that each day should be celebrated and full of joy, and strives to provide plenty of opportunities for residents to do just that. By learning each of the residents' likes and dislikes, what makes them shine and brightens their days, she can plan programs that cater to multiple interests.

Karin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in special education from Calvin College, and also earned her Master of Arts degree in gerontology from Concordia University in Chicago.

Karin is a member of the American Society on Aging and LeadingAge® Illinois. She has also completed her Activity Director course and is a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Dementia Practitioner®, and Certified Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Trainer.

Kellie Peterson,

Generations Program Director

Generations Program Director Kellie Peterson oversees Travanse Living’s Generations Memory Care Program. As Generations Program director, she oversees training team members and developing their abilities, fostering positive communication between team members, residents, families and health care partners and getting to know residents on a personal level to make a difference in their lives.

Prior to joining our team, Kellie lived in Michigan, where she attended Northern Michigan University. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communications, specifically Radio and Television Broadcasting.

She is a Certified Activity Professional registered with the Illinois Activities Professionals Association and is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner®. Kellie continues to serve as the treasurer of FRAPA, a local association of activity directors in Naperville focused on best practices and continuing education. Outside of work, Kellie enjoys spending time with her spouse and their young daughter taking photographs and creating digital children’s books.

Mark Rokos,

Building Service Director

Mark Rokos is the Building Service director for Travanse Living™ at Wheaton. He is responsible for handling the overall maintenance of the community to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Mark is the go-to guy who residents will call for any of their maintenance needs and emergencies, helping them to live the worry-free lifestyle they love. He is also in charge of preventive maintenance, ensuring the community is always in a clean,pleasant condition and is safe for everyone in it.

Mark and his wife, Mary, live with their Shiba Inu, Angel. When he is not working, Mark enjoys travel and food. His passion is fishing, both deep-water ocean and inland fresh water.

Karen Warner,

Business Office Director

Karen Warner comes to us with a solid combination of education and professional experience. After earning her bachelor’s degree in business management from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., she decided to narrow her focus, driven by her passion for people. She earned a master’s degree in human resources from Keller Graduate School.

Karen comes to us with 13 years of experience in the health care industry and three years in social services. She brings a fresh perspective to our team with her versatility. As she has matured in her career, her passion for helping people has grown as well. That has made for a smooth transition into this role and makes her a valuable part of our team.

A passionate, motivated individual, Karen looks to be a beacon of light to others. In her spare time, she serves as a mentor to girls from fourth through 12th grades, helping the girls become virtuous women through a leadership development curriculum and special projects, and establishing deep and meaningful relationships with assigned girls. She also loves to travel.

Marjone Nazerian,

Resident Care Director

Marjone received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and has over 16 years of health care experience, virtually all of it in management roles at senior living communities. She began her health care career as a certified nursing assistant. Her focus has always been to ensure that all residents receive the highest quality of care. She relishes her role as director of this thriving new community’s wellness and clinical program.

Beyond her professional activity, nothing pleases Marjone more than spending time with her family and being outdoors with the sun on her face and the breeze at her back.
